What is a Custom Fit Seat Cover
Custom Fit seat covers are designed to fit almost as good as the original upholstery. This is possible because the manufacturer makes them, armed with the exact make and model specifications and then feeding such data to the computer. Custom seat covers also take into account the unique seat features that tend to be different from one model to another.

What is a Semi-custom fit seat cover
Custom seat covers and the best, and Universal covers are the worst. And between these two are the Semi-custom fit seat covers. While these covers are not as bad as the Universal variety when it comes to fitting, they cannot offer the precision of Custom covers too. Never use the Semi Custom cover in vehicles that come with Side Airbag Safety systems as they are not adequately provided to deal with it.

What is “Neoprene”
Neoprene or polychloroprene is a multi-utility material used mostly in ‘wet suits’, laptop sleeves, electrical insulations, car fan belts, noise suppressing pads, etc are also used in vehicle seat cover making.

What is meant by ‘Friction’ in seat cover
Friction, in terms of vehicle seat cover involves chafing or rubbing between two similar or dissimilar materials like polyester, neoprene, leather, fabrics, etc that result in heat generation. The heat thus generated often causes surface deterioration of either one of the materials or both.

What is Pelt
Pelt in the upholstery trade indicates tanned or cured animal skin (usually from fox, beaver, raccoon, bear, etc) that still has the animal hair, wool, fur, etc  attached to it. Pelt is often used in car seat cover making in place of genuine fur which is far too expensive.

What is a Pink Slip
This is an American slang that stands for car registration certificate, printed in pinkish paper. The term is also linked with road races where the winner has the right to win the loser’s vehicle, too. Losing one’s Pink Slip means losing the vehicle in the bargain.

What is Polyester
It is a water-resisting tough synthetic fiber that was highly regarded first in the seventies. However now the material is regularly used in a lot of other areas, including in the automobile industry too.

What are Universal Fit seat covers?
Seat Covers that can fit any high or low-back bucket seat in any car or SUV, irrespective of make, model or year of manufacture are called Universal Fit Seat Covers. True, they can not give a perfect fit like Custom Fit covers, yet they may be OK in emergencies.

What is meant by UV/ Ultra Violet emission
Ultra Violet denotes emission of ultra Violet rays that come along with sunrays. It is not only harmful for human skin and the eyes but is equally if not more damaging to automobile upholstery. Ultra Violet rays also fade the vehicle’s carpeting and other interior décor.
