Manufacturing Information
Long before people knew about computers or IBM clones and their use, Coverking, the legendary south California based manufacturer of UV-resistant automobile safety covers, seat covers, dash covers and many more had revolutionized the manufacturing process of these auto accessories by introducing CAD/CAM method and other modern technologies in their production.
Founded by a electrical engineer, Coverking had infused a new life force in a relatively backward industry that depended mostly on manual labor and ‘cut-and-sew’ scheme, with its state-of-the-art technology. The experience and knowledge gained through decades of training at the Aerospace Defense industry, where the founder was employed, definitely helped.
The accuracy and precision of computer aided designing as well as a modern manufacturing technique kick started a new industrial era in the making of accessories for vehicles. Encouraged with the early success, the company soon employed the same methodology into the making of other products.
The quality and perfection of Coverking had contented the auto giant GM (General Motors of USA) so much so that the company was officially permitted to use the prestigious GM logo in the seat covers that are manufactured by Coverking for GM vehicles.
Coverking believes in bringing in modern technology and state of the art engineering to pioneer the way in which automobile accessories are made. And the company also believes that all this should ultimately offer a better value to the customer.
However, achievement isn’t a single handed issue. Advanced automation or computer aided manufacturing process alone hasn’t done the magic. Coverking’s dedicated workforce that believes in the finest workmanship and complete customer satisfaction also play a vital role in keeping the company flag flying high. |
